Aim: This study aimed to define the professional values of clinical manager nurses and the factors affecting these values.
Method: This descriptive study was conducted with 98 clinical manager nurses working in two university hospitals and a state hospital in a city center in Turkey. Two forms were used while collecting the data for the study. The first of these forms is the personal information form structured by the researchers and the second form is the Nurses’ Professional Values Scale. Data were collected by questionnaire method between November 2018 and January 2019. Verbal consent was obtained from the participants. The data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 statistical package program. Frequency distributions, descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Tukey, Mann-Whitney U, and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used in the analysis.
Results: The mean age of the clinical manager nurses participating in the study was 40.09±5.69, most of them were female and had a bachelor’s degree. The total mean score of the clinical manager nurses from the Nurses’ Professional Values Scale was found to be 123.23±18.54. The highest mean score was found in the human dignity sub-dimension. The lowest average was found in the autonomy sub-dimension. It was assessed that the relationship between the professional values of the nurses and their personal and professional characteristics was affected only by the age factor.
Conclusion: It was found that the professional values of the clinical manager nurses’ were at a good level. The Nurses’ Professional Values Scale total average score of the clinical manager nurses showed a significant difference according to age. Amaç: Bu çalışmada, sorumlu hemşirelerin profesyonel değerleri ile bunları etkileyen etmenleri belirlemek amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Bu araştırma tanımlayıcı olup Türkiye’de bir il merkezinde yer alan iki üniversite ile bir devlet hastanesinde görev yapan 98 sorumlu hemşirenin katılımı ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri toplanırken iki form kullanılmıştır. Bu formlardan ilki araştırmacılar tarafından yapılandırılmış kişisel bilgi formu, ikincisi ise “Hemşirelerin Mesleki Değerler Ölçeği”dir. Araştırmanın verileri Kasım 2018- Ocak 2019 tarihleri arasında anket yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. Katılımcılardan sözel onam alınmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 24.0 istatistik paket programı kullanılmıştır. Analizde frekans dağılımları, tanımlayıcı istatistikler, bağımsız gruplarda t testi, tek yönlü ANOVA, Tukey, Mann-Whitney U ve Kruskal-Wallis testleri kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan sorumlu hemşirelerin; ortalama yaşları 40,09±5,69, çoğu kadın ve lisans mezunudur. Sorumlu hemşirelerin “Hemşirelerin Profesyonel Değerleri Ölçeği” puan ortalaması 123,23±18,54 olarak bulunmuştur. “Hemşirelerin Profesyonel Değerleri Ölçeği”nin alt boyutlarında en yüksek puan ortalaması insan onuru alt boyutu iken en düşük ortalamanın otonomi alt boyutunda olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sorumlu hemşirelerin profesyonel değerleri ile kişisel ve mesleki özellikleri arasındaki ilişkinin yalnızca yaş değişkeninden etkilendiği saptanmıştır.
Sonuç: Sorumlu hemşirelerin profesyonel değerlerinin iyi düzeyde olduğu ve ölçek toplam puan ortalamasının yaşa göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Sorumlu hemşire, hemşirelik yönetimi, değer, profesyonel değerler
