Ama�: Bu �al��man�n amac�, rehber hem�irelerin �koruyucu, sosyalizasyon ve rol model rollerine ili�kin uygulamalar�n� ortaya koymakt�r.
Y�ntem: �al��ma, bir �niversite hastanesinde Mart-Haziran 2018 tarihleri aras�nda, rehber hem�irelik e�itimine kat�lan 135 hem�ire ile yap�lm��t�r. Kat�l�mc�lara, �koruyucu, sosyalizasyon ve rol model� rehberlik rollerine ili�kin uygulamalar�n� i�eren a��k u�lu bir soru sorulmu� ve verilen yan�tlar i�erik analizi ile de�erlendirilmi�tir.
Bulgular: �al��maya kat�lan hem�irelerin ya� ortalamas� 33,99�3,54 olup %94,1�i daha �nce en az bir y�l rehber hem�irelik yapm��t�r. Rehber hem�irelerin koruyucu rol�nde; yeni hem�ireye destek olma, hata riskini azaltmak i�in �nlemler alma ve ekip �yelerine kar�� savunma; sosyalizasyon rol�nde ekibe ve klinik ortama uyumuna yard�m etme; rol model rol�nde ise profesyonel davran��lar ve uygun ileti�im ile �rnek olma kategorileri belirlenmi�tir.
Sonu�: Rehber hem�ireler, yeni i�e ba�layan hem�ireye rehberlik ederken en fazla destekleme, ekibe ait hissetme/uyumuna yard�m etme ve uygun ileti�im yoluyla rollerini yerine getirmektedirler. Bu �al��man�n sonu�lar�n�n, y�netici hem�irelerin rehber-yeni hem�ire uyumunu sa�layacak �al��ma ortamlar�n�n olu�turmas�na ve i�e yeni ba�layan hem�irelerin gereksinimlerini kar��layacak rehberlik programlar�n�n geli�tirmesine katk� sa�lamas� beklenmektedir.

Aim: This study aimed to investigate preceptor nurses� practices regarding their �protective socialisation and role model� roles.
Method: This study was conducted with 135 preceptor nurses in a university hospital between March and June 2018. Preceptor nurses were asked an open-ended question on their practices regarding protective, socialisation, and role model roles. Their answers were analysed with content analysis.
Results: The participating nurses� mean age was 33.99�3.54. Of them, 94.1% previously worked as a preceptor nurse for at least one year. While supporting new nurses, taking measures to reduce the error risk and defending them against other team members are preceptor nurses� protective roles. Helping new nurses adapt to the team and the clinical environment is their socialisation role. Furthermore, displaying professional behaviours and establishing appropriate communication are their role model roles.
Conclusion: Preceptor nurses fulfil their roles by supporting new nurses, making them feel like they belong to the team, and establishing appropriate communication. The results of this study may guide manager nurses to create working environments contributing to preceptor-new nurse harmony and develop preceptorship programs to meet new nurses� needs.
