The Relationship Of Competence Status Of Intern Nurses� Attitudes Towards To Their Caregiver Roles

INTRODUCTION: The study was conducted to examine the relationship between the competence status of the intern nurses and their attitudes towards to their caregiving roles.
METHODS: This descriptive and correlational study was carried out with 295 students who studied in nursing department of an university between March and April 2019. Data were collected by using the Student Information Form, the Competence Scale of Nursing Students and the Attitude Scale for Nurses in Caregiving Roles. The data were evaluated using the descriptive statistical methods, independent variables t test in and Pearson correlation analysis..
RESULTS: It was found that 76.3% of students were female, 31.2% of students have at least one health worker in their family, 76.3% of the them loved the nursing profession, 76.3% of them wanted to make research to improve the nursing profession and 90.5% of the them wanted to use the research results in their care. Intern nurses received an average score 240.34�37.07 from Competence Scale of Nursing Students and 62.84�12.18 from the Attitude Scale for Nurses in Caregiving Roles. It was
determined direction of the weak, positive and statistically significant relationship between Competence Scale of Nursing Students and Attitude Scale for Nurses in Caregiving Roles total and subscale mean scores (p=0.000).

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: The study showed that the relationship between competence status of the intern nurses and their attitudes towards caregiving roles was in positive aspect.

Y�NTEM ve GERE�LER: Bu tan�mlay�c� ve ili�ki aray�c� ara�t�rma, Mart-Nisan 2019 tarihleri aras�nda bir �niversitenin hem�irelik b�l�m�nde okuyan 295 ��renci ile yap�lm��t�r. Veriler, ��renci Bilgi Formu, Hem�irelik ��rencilerinin Yetkinlik �l�e�i ve Hem�irelerin Bak�m Verici Rollerine �li�kin Tutum �l�e�i� ile toplanm��t�r. Veriler, tan�mlay�c� istatistiksel y�ntemler, ba��ms�z gruplarda t testi, Pearson korelasyon analizi kullan�larak de�erlendirilmi�tir.
BULGULAR: ��rencilerin %76,3��n�n kad�n, %31,2�sinin ailesinde en az bir sa�l�k �al��an� oldu�u, %76,3��n�n hem�irelik mesle�ini sevdi�i, %76,3��n�n hem�irelik mesle�ini geli�tirmek i�in ara�t�rma yapmak istedikleri, %90,5�inin verdi�i bak�mlarda ara�t�rma sonu�lar�n� kullanmak istedikleri bulunmu�tur. �nt�rn hem�irelerin �Hem�irelik ��rencilerinin Yetkinlik �l�e�i� puan ortalamas� 240,34�37,07, �Hem�irelerin Bak�m Verici Rollerine �li�kin Tutum �l�e�i� puan ortalamas� 62,84�12,18 oldu�u saptanm��t�r. Hem�irelik ��rencilerinin Yetkinlik �l�e�i ile Hem�irelerin Bak�m Verici Rollerine �li�kin Tutum �l�e�i� toplam ve alt boyut puan ortalamalar� aras�nda zay�f, pozitif y�nde ve istatistiksel olarak anlaml� ili�ki saptanm��t�r (p<0,05).
TARTI�MA ve SONU�: Ara�t�rma bulgular�, int�rn hem�irelerin yetkinlik durumlar� ile bak�m verici rollerine ili�kin tutumlar� aras�ndaki ili�kinin olumlu y�nde oldu�unu g�stermi�tir.
